Watches for the dongle the instant Windows Bluetooth connects, then holds the port open.
Windows pairing checklist
- Phone: Settings → Bluetooth → Forget OBDLink; close The Mechanic app
- Windows: Settings → Bluetooth → Remove OBDLink if listed
- Dongle plugged in truck, key ON (engine running is best)
- Windows Bluetooth: click OBDLink — must say Connected (not just Paired)
- Click Watch for Dongle, then Connect in Windows Bluetooth — do not click Manual Connect if already green
